Never never never never never never never never never never never never never do anything as root if it could be done as a regular user; and only then you would do it very very very very very very very very very very CAREFULLY. It's a P2P app. Security? What security? These things are disasters waiting to happen. I do suggest you take precautions. If you wish to have it run all the time on your machine while you login and logout of various other accounts: 1. login to machine via text console. 2. type "startx -- :2" 3. start xmule 4. now hit CTL-ALT-F[1-7] ,and you will see your usual GUI login. Should you wish to check progress, CTL-ALT-F8 might bring up the second X server (on :2) |

I was thinking about run it as root because i hould like to save downloads in a FAT partition, and with a normal user don't have access to that partition. I change my mind and now I mount that partition with write permissions to a specific user, other than root. Thank you all. |
