Default zipslack, loadlin and linux-2.6

Hi,

Have you expirienced problems with loadlin and booting 2.6 kernels?

I guess 2.6 is not supported yet (hopefully it will be), maybe you know
some good loadlin replacement allowing to boot 2.6 kernel on zipslack?

Regards
W.

Last I checked, UMSDOS pseudo-root was broken in 2.6. I'm not sure, but
I know Matija has very little time to work on this. See this:
http://linux.voyager.hr/umsdos/
and note that there's no mention of 2.6.x, and the date is older than
2.6.0 kernels.

In the kernel.

Any boot loader will boot a UMSDOS root, but of course only when the
kernel itself can handle it. UMSDOS pseudo-root was broken in 2.4.x
until x=10.

UMSDOS support is being completely rewritten, so it's not in 2.6 kernel yet.
You'll have to make do with 2.4 for zipslack I'm afraid.
