Default slackware keeps crashing

for some reason, slackware 9.1 has started to crash. Im not sure, but i
think it could be something to do with the ogg decoder juk uses. all of a
sudden, X completely hangs, no mouse, no sound. the numlock light turns on
or off when you press numlock though. Its also imposible to switch VT's. i
haven't tried SSH. It also only happens when i am playing *some* ogg files,
and using opera 7.51 (but only sometimes). i dont know exactly how to
reproduce this behaviour.

does anybody else have this problem?

kde 3.2.1
slack 9.1
kernel 2.6.6

i was thinking of enabling the hangcheck timer in the kernel, but i dont
know how to set an action, when the hangcheck timeout is reached (killall
-9 artsd ; killall -9 juk ; killall -9 opera). can anybody help me with
this?

TIA
