Default DVDRW-IDE1008

Hi, all!

Running Slack-current on a 1Ghz P4. I have a BTC DVDRW-IDE1008 drive.
Two questions:

1) Is it worth cracking my firmware to make the drive region free, or
should I not worry, since my CPU is fast and libdvdcss can play DVDs
whose region is different from the player's anyway?

2) If the answer to the above is that it is still worth cracking the
firmware, how do I go about doing that?

Thanks,
PM

If tour drive works with out cracking the firmware why bother? There is
a program called region set or something like that; I don't remember
where I got it. Google or Yahoo will give you alot of resources if you
type "dvd linux" into the search text box.
