FLash drives degrade over time according to how often you > write to them. Typically vfat is perfect. It's ubiquitous and > - - - - - - < snip > - - - - - - - - They do deteriorate over time when in highly radio-active environments. These little puppies don't 'wear out', don't age, etc. Misuse and abuse and especially, bad environments is what usually takes them out of service. They will last along time. Longer if you occasionally write to the entire flash. Best way to do that is to re-format them, now and then. Flash technology has come a long way since the time when products had a useful, but short life. I know, I don't expect mine to last for a few decades, by then I will have replaced it by something better, a few times over. -- humjohn AT aerosurf DOT net |
