Default Slackware 10.0 and Kernel 2.6

Hi there,

can someone tell me what this statement form Slackware.com means:

"(with Linux 2.6.7 as an alternate choice in /testing)"

When I buy the isos, will Kernel 2.6.7 be included (is /testing on the
cds), or does that mean that I have to download it from somewhere? And
tweak the different settings by myself

I would like to buy Slackware 10 because I appreciate Pat's work, but if
there would be much trouble in using Kernel 2.6., I would stick to 9.1
and wait for a release with native 2.6-Kernel support.

Thanx in advance!

Cheerz Lars

Yes it is included with the distro. It just isn't the default kernel.

Kernel source and a precompiled image with the proper modules are
included, so don't worry. The testing/ directory is somewhere on CD 3 or
CD 4.

when you run the installation, are you prompted with a choice between 2.4
and 2.6 (*), or do you have to install it manually as in 9.1 current?

(*) if so, do you need to download the 3rd and 4th iso?

Actually it's on CD 2.

No, you are not offered a choice of kernels during installation. The 2.4
will be installed. The 2.6 kernel stuff is located in /testing, on CD 2.
You do not need the 3rd and 4th CD's.
