| Hi, Dowloaded Slack 10 disk 1 this morning (UK time) OK - took about 5 hours. But I can''t get disk 2. Using bittorrent 3.3 I get the error message: "problem connecting to tracker urlopen error 10060 " My Torrentspy 0.2.4.26 says "Web request is frelled with an unknown error" Anybody else having success with bittorrent downloads at present - or has it keeled over under the load? |

| ....several hours later - now that the bittorrent tracker site is up again I see this message... "I am aware of the occasional disappearances of this router. So far there have been 2 ~2 hour outages around 6am (pacific), and one on the 24th in the afternoon. I'm doing my best to make sure these don't happen again." And I downloaded disk 2 OK , also took about 5 hours. |

So far there I missed that. You mean the http://slackware.com/torrents/ page? That message isn't there now. I've been sharing a customer site's bandwidth (they benefit from several Slackware machines, so it's Morally Right) since Fri 23:00 GMT. I had tracker problems for about 3 hours from about 04:30 GMT today. That could be related to the new slackware-current tree!! Was he uploading it during that time? And if so, why doesn't he get shell access to that server so he could just cp -a slackware-10.0 slackware-current and save the bandwidth? New -current?!? What's up wi' that? The 10.0 CD's still haven't cooled from the replicator yet! Since Pat got married this Slackware thing looks less like a hobby and more like a job. -- /dev/rob0 - preferred_email=i$((28*28+28))@softhome.net or put "not-spam" or "/dev/rob0" in Subject header to reply |

Disc one took about the same amount of time. I grabbed the latest release of BT, its now at 3.4.2, and worked with it to grab Disc 1. However Disc 2 keeps causing a timeout message, at least that's what the error codes mean from my other side of the box. <WAG hat here.> It could be that there are a lot of people attempting to download BT images that the servers are getting slammed by these attempts. There have been links to a few ftp servers people have set up with all 4 discs posted here in the last couple of days. The one I used was pretty fast though when I checked it against bittorent there was a problem on a couple of the ISO's. On one of them about 76% through the check, I'm guessing, it found something different than the bittorent ISO so it took some time to correct it. On one of the others it made it through about 98% of the check but corrected it in a few minutes. -- Confucius: He who play in root, eventually kill tree.
