| I have a canon BJC 3000 connected locally by parallel cable. I am trying to configure it with the GUI on the panel with cups. It does not give me options to configure it under a parallel cable? Only serial, USB and scsi. If I send this command to the printer as root "ls > /dev/lp0" the printer will start up. Wish that really meant something to me. I have searched but can't find any thing that helps. If nothing else, it shows that there is truly a printer at /dev/lp0 and the hardware is functioning correctly. All you left to do is the easy part: configure it so the os can use it. Now we need more info: Which GUI? Which panel? Jack -- First, they fear you. Then they match you. Then they laugh at you. Then they ignore you. Then you lose. |

| Sorry for the post as I have it figured out. I needed to uncomment the parallel printing support in /etc/rc.d/ rc.modules. Thanks, razor Message posted via: ===================== www.linuxpackages.net/forum www.linuxpackages.net Expanding the world of Slackware ===================== |
