You'are right. I wasn't thinking. I also didn't think I said anything hostile, but an agreement is an agreement so I apologize for the mention. You know how they say that war and politics make for strange bed-fellows? Looks like the Netcop is after us both. We may have more in common than we thought! ANC |

They don't have a speed. The software in the distributions have speed. The kernel and user apps have speed and slackware uses the standard kernel and standard apps. Needless to say, the standard kernel and the standards apps all run at the standard speed. Anybody who thinks a distribution has a measurable speed does not know what a distribution is. To state that slackware is faster than Red Hat, for example, is simply misusing language. cordially, as always, rm[/quote:c0acb89400] Mr Realto Margarino Your splitting hairs. A distro is made of many parts and depending on how those parts are put together determines the apparent speed that one experiences. But apps my dear beloved troll don't have speed either. They are simply a compilation of bits and bytes executed by the processor. Which is a part of a computer as most people call it. The computer is where you get the speed. How well a distro, or app, or program, or what ever you prefer to call it Mr. Realto Margarino, is put together will determine the apparent speed of an app, OS, palm, phone, or trollizer. I really like you Realto Margarino. Enemy Mine. Message posted via: ===================== www.linuxpackages.net/forum www.linuxpackages.net Expanding the world of Slackware ===================== |
