| Hello, i noticed more and more programs on linuxpackages, which are compiled with the gcc 3.4. So I ask for your experience with this new one, especialy when compiling the kernel. Will i open pandoras box with installpkg gcc-3.4.0-i486-1.tgz? | At this point I see no need to make a move to 3.4. I am sure there may advantages to it but right now to stay in line with 10.0 I wouldn't switch. I only found one package on LP that was built with gcc 3.4 and that one has been removed for that reason. It seems that a lot of people are still catching up with whatever source code modifications are required to keep 3.4 happy. I've gone back to 3.3.4, and would recommend waiting until the dust dies down a little before upgrading. |

| I wouldn't suggest moving aswell. Alot of programs won't compile (most popular one is Wine). stick with 3.3.4 for now till PV makes it (3.4x) offical.
