| Don't know if anyone has heard or seen anything like this but what I'm looking for is a way to setup voice communications between two computers over the internet, IP I guess. Without having to go through some "internet telephone" service. I just want to connect up the computers direct over IP. Anyone know of something that will do this? Thanks -- ----------------------- Smash it with a hammer! |

I know it's doable, because I did it mumblemumble years ago, but it was a winders system, and I don't remember what S/W or chatroom I was using (or which of these it was anyway.) Good Luck! Rich |

I don't know about your internet bandwith but for me works well (56k modem in greece). So, take a look at www.openh323.org, and for linux use gnomemeeting. It works well for both sound/voice and video |

Try 'Teamspeak': http://www.teamspeak.org/ OK, you will need one machine to act as a server, but other than that it is very good - and the quality is excellent. Servers easily handle a lot of people. |

The server even has a built-in web interface to help you configure it. |
