Whatever it is you did to get the copy to work properly from its new
partition made it so that the old one won't work properly from its old
partition any more, probably /etc/fstab and /etc/lilo.conf. And/or /boot.
You can look up any of this stuff - it could be an interesting exercise
for you. :-)
