| If you try to go to the Slackcare site, you might see the following message complaining about "Noobs" who aren't following the rules. Read closely, and you will see that Slackcare has as much as called 90 percent of their users "shiny noob ASSES". Seems people aren't signing up correctly. Why the software allows someone to sgn up incorrectly is not explained. Of course, this merits taking the site down indefinitely, right? In other words, my users are doing what they want, not what I want them to do. Imagine that. Anyway, here's the pithy notice: "Slackcare will be offline for a short while until we can figure out how to change the signup process. 90% of all users signing up are not following the signup process, and we need to fix this, so it will have to be done correctly in order for any access given to the site. "So if we're ofFar be it from me to tread fline for the next few days trying to figure out how to do this you can thank the NoObs the next time you see them, or with our blessings kick their shiny noob ASSES for not following the rules. "Hope to be back soon. C ya" Slackcare Team |

Well your point is well taken, but please tone it down: you're sounding like a troll. > In other words, my users are doing what they want, not what I want > them to do. On the one hand, it looks nicely done but there is some weirdness. There's a quick comment column on the left hand side where some people - members I guess - are bitching because nobody has donated money to the site. That was a little strange to see. Then today I get an email from them thanking me for joining the site - something I think I recall doing last winter when I first started with slackware. Then I get another email appologizing for the bad formatting of the first email - which wasn't badly formatted as far as I can tell - just 8 months late. Very strange. |

Better yet is something actually funny like Micros~1. But writing it Crimo$oft is not only silly, it's plain immature. You're calling a corporation composed of hundred of employees, and thousands of share holders a criminal organization. While I do not at all agree with many (most?) of Microsoft's practices particularly related to anti-trust law violations and the FUD machine, I'm not going to resort to childish name calling to prove my viewpoint. - -- It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, Than for a man to hear the song of fools. People who make up disparaging names to feign superiority are not cool. Linux is cool. Be cool, and take the high ground. Be superior by example. Don't name-call. Making fun of Windoze is cool, as long as it doesn't cross that imaginary line into slander or libel. And remember, inside every Windows victim is a budding Linux user crying for freedom, justice, and the Clueful Way. ;-) Hope This Helps! Rich |
