Default a and l

Hi, I have moved a hard disk with SL8.1 from one computer to another and
suddenly find that, on the command line in text mode, when I try to type
the letter l the letter a shows up. It happens only to that letter l. I
use a UK keyboard. Any ideas? In graphics mode everything works fine.

Thanks, JB

First thing I'd do, me lad: make that keyboard walk the plank. Ye could

an' try some testin', o' the likes o' showkey(1).

Ever so kind, squire. Keyboard as sound as the cannons to the aft. l=38,
a=30 in either modes. ASCII has come a cropper.

a or l ? It is all a matter of perception (Ludwig Wittgenstein, Typing in
the Norwegian Fells, second draft)

Seriously, I am puzzled about this, sounds too strange to be true.
