with zless, that makes sense, but less should work. it has always worked
for me on slack 8.1, 9.0 and 9.1, and i don't see any reason why it
shouldn't work on 10.0. you should make sure you have /usr/bin/lesspipe.sh
and that LESSOPEN is set to `|lesspipe.sh' (IIRC). normally, this is set
up automatically on slack.
