Nope, it's not just you. I get a weird bluish square in the upper left of the screen, and my system locks. I have to power off -- ctrl/alt/delete won't even work. |

Yes, it looks like a battery icon in the upper left corner when it freezes while attempting to log out of root. But, I've been using it for a few days now as user, and am not noticing problems. |

When you're reloading a system and restoring files, it makes sense to be running KDE as root. |
