i appreciate having something to compare to. here's what i have:

as for the modules. i just compiled kernel v2.4.26 just for this camera.
so most everything i need is baked into the kernel, so i don't have any
modules loaded. i have all the scsi stuff needed, all filesystems,
including umsdos, usb modules including OHCI and usb-storage. all that's
in the kernel.

i tried to mount the drive on sda*, sg*, sdc*, sdb*, where * is a number, i
tried 1..10 on each...(small perl one-liner)...nothing worked.
frustrating...i'm almost there. it's all connected, lsusb can get a bit of
info from the camera, i just can't access the data on it.

docs i've read on the internet say that for my exact camera, usb-storage mod
should work fine, however gphoto2 and lsusb say that it's a PTP camera:
iProduct 2 USB PTP Camera
bInterfaceProtocol 1 Picture Transfer Protocol (PIMA 15470)

but when i use the mmptp mod, i can't access the camera with it. ah
well...almost there,

i appreciate the help,
