Seems to be working now, Nice. If you need more info about this stuff: try the EIDE howto: http://www.win.tue.nl/~aeb/linux/Large-Disk.html > but I'll be sure and check back with this newsgroup if that changes Well, if i understand your setup, that would be as soon as your CMOS battery runs out of power ... Hence i'd switch to the Grub bootloader: ftp://ftp.slackware.at/slackware-current/extra/grub/ > Thanks for everyone's help! Sure thing. -- -Menno. |

Usually there _should_ be a marking on the cable. Mine had none. - -- - -=SilliCone=- "as appealing as it might seem, it is impossible to patch or upgrade users" <Security Warrior> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBc+kMZa9iGSXQ4MIRAkRmAJ0RK9NwM0D4dhPJOLYRVw 6kvDwpZACfW7Cu AQ2IDpGY4MnJL7TRds90h7o= =euE/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Though, now that the machine is in a general state of "working" I think I'll see what else Lilo has to offer before abandoning it. If for no other reason than to use the same boot loader as all my other machines. The `-g` flag or `geometric` option in Lilo seems like it may be of use here, but I won't be able to test it until I get home tonight. Regards, David P. Donahue ddonahue@ccs.neu.edu |
