Default May I install j2sdk-1_5_0-i586-1.tgz on Slackware 10.0?

Could anyone tell me if it's safe to upgradepkg the
j2sdk-1_4_2_04-i586-3 with the new package (j2sdk-1_5_0-i586-1.tgz) in
Slackware-current? Or is it better to uninstall the old one and
install the binaries from Sun?

I am concerned that the new slackpack could be somehow affected by the
other system changes that are on the way in the current tree, but ot
on my system. Or shoudn't I?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Cheers!!!

It works without any problems. Remember, (afaik) this is just the binary
Sun package, repackaged as a Slackware package.

i don't think it's much to worry about in this case. the slack pack is
just a repackaging of Sun's binaries, so whichever you do, it shouldn't
matter much.
