Maybe you should take a look at SystemRescueCd. Its a bootable Linux CD
coming with a lot of tools both for rescue and sysadm work like resizing
partitions(parted and Qt-parted).

I normally use the bootable disk from the latest Slackware release for this
type of thing. Yesterday, I grabbed an old rescue cd similar to what
you're suggesting. I've made several such through the years, but never
seem to keep them up to date.

Oops. Sorry. Obviously, I'm not Pango. Last sentence stands.

I agree, Partition Magic is awesome when it comes to hassle free partition
making and resizing. Also comes with Boot Magic. A handy lil program for
booting into more than one OS.

Then why not benefit from others work like this SystemRescueCd which is
kept pretty well updated.

Yeah, I've since discovered the Slack disk does not include parted. I'll
give SystemRescueCD a try. Thanks.

Look in the Extra directory of any recent Slack. There it is. Of
course, it's not the most recent flavor of Parted but it is part of
Slackware enough to be in Extra.

True, but it's not on the bootable second disk in the set.
