Default slackware 10.1 xorg-6.8.1 i810 kernel 2.4.29 crash

Anyone else running an i810 video on 10.1? Mine won't operate more
than a minute without locking up the system requiring a hard reboot.
There is a bug in xorg-6.8.1 regarding the i810 driver that was
crashing my system whenever I tried the 2.6.x kernels (on current).
But, it was working on kernel 2.4.28. Now, I wonder if the 2.4.29
kernel has something backported from 2.6.x that's crashing my i810.

Ah, success. There's a i810_drv.o, compiled from xorg cvs, posted at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=1363 which works for me.

Interesting, mine has hung a few times this evening since I upgraded.
What do I do with the .o file, just search for it and replace it?

I have no problem running Slackware 10.1 with my i810 video, using the
2.6.10 kernel.

Thanks to Patrick for posting the xorg-6.8.2 update to "current". With
6.8.2 this problem is fixed!
