Put in /etx/X11/xorg.conf: Sectin "Device" Identifier "SomeGForce" Driver "nv" EndSection -- Mikhail |

If you want just 2d graphics use the "nv" driver as per a previous post. If you want 3d acceleration grab the driver *.run file from nvidia.com, run it as root and install the drivers (trivial) and use the "nvidia" driver instead. Does anyone > know off hand if it works with Nvida (from chipset, to graphics card) > The NVidia driver works out of the box pretty much with the stock Slackware install, but if you use the optional 2.6.x kernel you might have to grab a patch or two to build the NVidia driver/or get it to load. Once done, it works fine. (Using the NVidia-6629 driver with X11R6.8.2 and kernel-2.6.10 on my laptop which has the GeForce FX Go 5200 card at 1600x1200 resolution) Brad -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iD8DBQFCFO3kkDp4KjYna1ARAlRGAKCx7gYt3hft/eUwIZP3tvn09Hw6fQCfeT9c ku6YtakgCqISfI1y/O1K4YE= =PPXE -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Some distros make it more difficult though, by not including certain key components. When Mepis first came out, I recall that being an issue. Scott -- Only trust pipesmoking penguins. |

I used the ones from http://www.minion.de/files/1.0-6629/ but as long as they work.
