| I access radio stations with Relplayer and have few problems. But now someone has come up with a radio broadcast that "requires Windows Player." Two questions: 1. Does Windows Media Player use a specific sound format that is different from the common ones like wav etc.? 2. If the answer is yes then is there a Linux player that will handle that stream? -- John Culleton Able Indexers and Typesetters |

There are other choices like Xine which also work but Mplayer works every time I've tried it. |

You can read about the format here: <URL: http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/A/ASX.html> > 2. If the answer is yes then is there a Linux player that will handle that > stream? Mplayer with the right codecs handles this very well. But usually the biggest problem is to find the link to the .asx file. Its normally hidden behind some M$-java-script that first checks Internet Explorer to see if Windows Media Player is installed. -- Thomas O.
