I have gone back and run the X configure programs now and get this
error. The whole error message is: "XIO: fatal error 104 (Connection
reset by peer) on X server (:0.0") after 0 requests (0 known processed)
with 0 events remaining."

The error before (EE) Problem parsing the config file and (EE) error
parsing the config file errors accompanied the error "Parse error on
line 47 of section Monitor in file /root/xorg.conf.new" happened
before.

I was warned about overwriting an old .config file but went ahead and
did it anyway as I cannot figure out what else to do. How does one go
about looking at these files anyway when told to 'look at the file' how
do you look at a file?
