Default Colorado 5gb tape drive

Does anyone know of a good online how-to for using the Colorado 5gb
tape drive (parallel port) with Linux? I've spent hours reading
different on web sites that give part of the story, read everything I
can find that comes with Slackware (i.e., devices.txt), etc. I know I
have to use either /dev/pt0 or /dev/paride0.

Someone must have written a step-by-step ... I just can't seem to
locate it.
