"If the Church of the SubGenius were... ['a favorite pasttime of the
educated lower-class to poke fun at those of above them, who would
rather others didn't forget they were above [sic] ] ... I believe it
would be harmless'" says Ed Hurst, Christian Hedonist and Southern
Baptist Preacher. Preacher Ed, or "Ed The Hed" as he was likely known
in the 1970's, is clearly an individual who has overcome some
considerable disadvantages in the literacy department. Like most
spacecases of his generation, it's lucky he has any braincells left at
all. We just haven't taken the time to convert this man! The fault is
all ours, not his.

I was trying to get out of the door and on the road, then I saw this
post. In my delay upon reading it I missed a horrible traffic accident
by mere minutes. Praise Preacher Ed! Praise "Bob"! Praise the Lord!
Praise the BVM! Praise angels!

These miraculous incidents happen all the time! Then again, people
drive very badly.

Ah, I thought we represented "There is no spoon"-ism.

But it was worth every minute, thanks for the link.

There's nothing that can cheer up you up on a lousy rainy Monday than
discover your member of an evil cult.

"I suppose it was just an insider joke, just being trendy and cool,
when Patrick Volkerding chose the "Dr. Bob" face and the term
"Slack" early in his project."

"Dr. Bob" = Alcoholics Anonymous founder & patron saint

J.R. "Bob" Dobbs = Spawn of Nyarlhotep & OUR patron saint

I hear this ALL THE TIME. "So that's a picture of Dr. Bob, huh?"

That's "Dr. Bob" = AA **co-founder**.

With Bill Wilson, noted drunk and acid-head.

To be honest I had to give him points for defending the BSD's since
reading the intro to the FreeBSD book and the southern verbal warning to
someone wearing a FreeBSD shirt about the devil being bad.

But his argument on Slackware is short of fact.

I hope he doesn't find the waiting for Bob archives.

For Christian's though you must admit it didn't have the hell fire and
damnation just I won't run slack. Which is fair enough. I won't run MS
and my reasons are idealogical. So can't really argue.

So lets raise are glass to this gentlemen and toast to the right to
choose software, no matter the idealogy involved in the choice.
