What makes you ask? Yes, I have an account there where emails sent to
Henrik.Carlqvist@deadspam.com are supposed to bounce with a message that
they triggered a spam trap. I did sign up to their terms and conditions.
Right now I'm unable to get to their webpage where those conditions are
described.

I just wondered what they did, not being able to see a web page. We have
some very funny proxies over here.

Cheers

As I'm still unable to see their page so it is probably something wrong
with the deadspam webserver. However, I did try to send an email to my
deadspam address and it bounced as it was supposed to do.

Most people have a non-existant email address with non-existant domains in
their from field when posting to usenet news to avoid spam-bots.
Deadspam.com offers, or at least did offer email-addresses for free which
produces a good bounce message if anyone sends an email to that address.

Slackware uses the vanilla kernel from kernel.org, however I note you
mention udev - are you trying to compile a 2.4 kernel or 2.6? 2.6 uses udev,
whereas 2.4 used devfs. This may be your problem.

You could always enable devfs (now deprecated) in 2.6 and try using that. A
better solution would be to get a hold of either the logs to see what's
happening or using the stock slackware .config from /testing/. I suspect you
probably haven't compiled in something like hotplug support which udev
requires.

Martin

Ohh. I just fixed all my problems. I removed all SCSI support compile
dthe kernel and installed udev. And I made a link (/dev/pg0) to
/dev/cdrom for cdrecord to use my drive.

Well I got the idea for installing udev from Mad-Eye Moody. So thanks
Mad-Eye Moody!
