| My laptop has the inbuilt Intel 82910GML/915GM(S) graphics chipset and a 15.4" screen. The problem is that I cant get widescreen running and so the GUI looks pretty stretched along with blurry fonts while running XWindows (or was it XServer). Fiddling with the xorg.conf and setting the resolution to 1280x800 only crashed startx. As of now I am using Slackware 10.1. Also how do I switch from KDE to GNOME ? |

Or go to <URL: http://www.linux-laptop.net/> and check if your laptop is here, if your lucky there's a xorg.conf present you can use as inspiration. > As of now I am using Slackware 10.1. | A quick run through www.linux-laptop.net yielded no useful results. The last time that I did post about the widescreen problem no one actually suggested a solution for the Intel chipset. Rather a solution for the Ati Radeon x700 chipset was mentioned. |
