Default Does slackware install on SATA drives?

Hello, I have two SATA drives on my machine and no other HDDs. Would
slackware 10.2 install on them or not? and how? would the installer
automatically detect them and allow me to use cfdisk? thanks

Yes, in slack-10.1, the sata.i kernel needed to be
selected when booting initially. I assume that
slack-10.2 is the same.

Hello. Thanks. I booted with the sata.i kernel and then started cfdisk.
I have two SATA drives, sda and sdb, but cfdisk only shows me
partitions on sda and does not seem to recognise sdb. What can I do
about this? Thanks.

Hello. I did try cfdisk /dev/sdb. It didn't work.

`fdisk -l` will list what drives are visible, me not use cfdisk.

If your two drives not visible you may need to give the BIOS a
stern talking too, perhaps check the cables. Then tell us what
lspci says about the system.

Grant.

me neither;

Also give sata.s a try, instead of sata.i.
