HP sends them out on a fully loaded CD though that includes a lot of additional things. Beyond drivers for all the Windows operating systems, I believe they also include Linux a lot of fonts, additional software, and a wizard for installing the printer in a networked environment for windows machines. Oh yeah, they include all the necessary support to add IP printing to Windows 98. Without that, you simply can't create a TCP_IP port on Win98. Those "all-in-one" machines may also include scanning and faxing software. So, while you may find a 400MB[0] download, more likely than not most of that is not really drivers. [0] Just checked the CD copy I received for drivers for the HP 4250n, albeit _not_ an "all-in-one" machine at 530MB. - -- It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, Than for a man to hear the song of fools. I prefer to test it first then purchase. However, at 100 megs, OO is unlikely to ever see the inside of my hard drive. ken |

For that matter, you are better off to stick with windows. cordially, as always, rm |

Whaddya bitchin about? That's a compressed installation proggy containing a brazilian little files that perform the functions needed to make the suite work. Microsoft Office is huge in comparison. Disk space and broadband aren't exactly out of the regular Joes price range either. -- REAGAN WAS WORSE |

It has a word processor, spread sheet, presentation, database, drawing package, html creator, a huge bunch of documentation and graphics do dah thingies and it still fits into less than 100 Megs. I bet the M$ equivalents are bigger in total. Ian |
