| I'm trying to get Slackware 10.1 (soon to be 10.2) working with my Sony Clie so I can abandon Windows completely. In surfing the web, I understand that pilot-link (first) followed by j-pilot is the way to go. Has anyone got these working on Slackware? If so, are you using the usb or serial interface? I tried Kpilot and it could not find the Sony device. The Sony Clie works fine under Windows 98SE but I want to get away! Larry -- My real sig is much better. |

I had a Clie working over USB a few years back using the following driver: http://usbvisor.sourceforge.net/index.php Also look in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/usb/usb-serial.txt (search for 'Visor') Blumf |

I don't use the client utilities in the pilot package as all I want to do is exchange files and archive my backups. I access my TH55 either via the wireless 802.11 network or I mount it as a stoarge device (via USB). Either way I create a backup on my hand-held then copy the backup to my Linux system to archive it. I was never able to get it to work properly (or conveniently) with the the pilot packages so I opted for this alternate route. -- ------------------------------------------------ http://www3.sympatico.ca/dmitton SPAM Reduction: Remove "x." from my domain. ------------------------------------------------ |
