Well, if the number gets too big, it starts
again at zero and counts up...

And to answer the first question, it measures since boot (or since wrap).

I have stopped my search at knetstats. in the newest version there are
graphics (seen on screenshots), but there is no slackware package yet.

Was just reading the firewalling and NAT chapters of the Linux Network
Admin Guide and apparently you can do some accounting with iptables. Eh
no examples from me though I'm still trying to absorb it
