| I am interested in getting a TV card. I want to watch TV on my computer. I would also be interested in recording programs. Somewhat like I used to do with my VCR. Can someone recommend a unit? I run Slackware and a Debian derivative. It is well supported and works great under Slackware. They are very reasonably priced on ebay. |

Seeing as I've been using my computer as a vcr for over three years, the kernel clearly doesn't need to be _that_ recent (unless you have new and exotic tv card, I suppose). #Paul |

Boy! is that a waste of time. I was unable to find what chip was used so I am still looking around. I did see some that were called win tv cards. Does this mean they are like the winmodems? They only work with Windoze? I see some that are under $50.00 US and that would fit my pocket book but I have small pocket and can't afford to waste. -- Leo (Bing) Whiteway in Kelowna, BC, Canada: Ham calls: VE7UW and VE7OKV A computer without Microsoft is like a chocolate cake without mustard. < running Linux > |
