Anyone using Skype 1.3 BETA with slackware?

I can't make it to work.

No sound since I can't call anyone! Messaging works.

Skype-1.2.0.18 works with OSS but the only problem (major to me) is that It does not Ring. In options, ringing is grey

ls -la /dev/snd ---> /sound/dsp root.audio (I added myUser to audio group..)

What say lsof| grep dsp when is skype off?

don't know about 1.3, I switched to ubuntu and ekiga for the moment
(everything is working flawlessly).

I remember I solved this way:

a) download the dynamic tarball (.tar.bz2) from skype.com
b) copy "skype" to /usr/local/bin
c) create "/usr/local/share/skype" and copy "call_in.wav", "call_out.wav"
and "im.wav" inside it

in my case (slack 10.2), and in case of my friend who uses ubuntu (6.06),
1.2.x does not work while 1.3 works flawlessly.
