Default pan on winxp ;)

hi there,

Nice to get non-modal windows on 'doze Gratuitous test message, me
surprised to have X apps running on 'doze. Try compression for faster
screen updates...

The crazy thing is the motivation to get X11 running on 'doze was to use
NEdit instead vim-7 'cos new vim busted bash syntax highlighting -- but
now that issue's solved, I have less incentive to switch to NEdit, though
it be softer on the eyes and fingers.

End up running this news client under emulation? Bochs or WINE, I wonder?

Grant.

I never tested it under WINE so we'll wait for your story, but if you
want to try a virtualizer I'd suggest strongly to use QEmu instead of
Bochs.

Hi,

I've found VMWare Player a bit easier to configure than QEMU,
especially the networking, and seems more performant too.
I use the QEMU utility qemu-img to create new disks for subsequent
use by VMWare Player.

My Bochs runs very slow - too slow for me to use it usefully on
Athlon XP 1.5GHz.
