The vast majority of the man pages are cheat sheets for people who already understand, and have experience with, the application/utility in question, and are also familiar with Linux/Unix conventions and terminology. That's why we have info pages, which contain the _full_ manual. And the docs in /usr/share/doc /usr/doc. And the docs in the sources. And tutorials all over the Web. Why don't you run along and torture the neighbor's cat, or whatever else it is you do for fun when you aren't taking cheap shots at newbies? I have *never* posted anything to a Novell newsgroup, nor to *chevy-trucks, nor to internetmarketers, nor to lhs1985 (whatever that is), unless it was a silly crossposted article I replied to and didn't notice. Not the "wget" one. It's so simple, even you could understand it. > That's why we have info pages, which contain the _full_ manual. Right. > And the docs in /usr/share/doc /usr/doc. Hush up, boy. Go outside and play with Bigfoot (but watch out for space aliens and Xena!). If you keep acting like this, Mommy's not going to allow you to watch PowerRangers on Saturday! -- "Ubuntu" - an African word meaning "Slackware is too hard for me". |

If you don't download the article(s) I write, how would you know anything about how I treat newbies? How is that possible? Who's making a fool of themselves? Oh, and I know that now you won't respond to this post, because that would *prove* that you *do* download the articles. It's my newsreader. I download whatever articles I choose, and I leave whatever articles I choose on the server. You don't get a say in the matter. Duh. > > You're a transparent fool. No. I'm just someone who posts things you don't like and whom you can't bully into changing their ways or getting off the Usenet. Like too many of the people on the Usenet, you believe in free speech for yourself, but not for others. Isn't that just too bad? Maybe you ought to hold your breath until you turn blue in the face?
