Does you user name at the Slackwarebox start with a uppercase letter
like "Matt"? If so add this line to the button of /etc/mail/aliases:
matt: Matt

After this you must run the 'newaliases' command as root.

It seems as if you have configured fetchmail so it is able to get emails
but unable to send them where they should go. Where does fetchmail try to
send the emails?

If they are sent without any trouble everything should be fine.

The above looked like trouble to me.

If the mails are sent were they belong you probably know where they are
going.

Fetchmail, by default, delivers mail locally to your MTA. Looks
like it (or something) is denying fetchmail access to port 25
or the MTA's input.

You can have fetchmail go around your MTA.

If alan is still reading 'only the headers' then you are sure to get
his attention.
