xboard install on slackware

I have zenwalk 4.0, based on slackware
I compiled xboard

then installed gnuchess package from here(slack site) using installpkg
from command line
http://packages.slackware.it/package...ss-5.07-i486-2

they both complain
xboard: no fonts match pattern
-*-helvetica-bold-r-normal--*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

even thought I did netpkg font and installed everything, nothing said
helvetica though
