| I'd like to learn about and set up ipv6 on my new computer. It looks like my router doesn't support it so I'll have to use an ipv4 tunnel to an ipv4 address. That's fine, I can set that up with my ISP and all IPv6 traffic will be sent to to that address, ie my new computer. Then, what next? Can anyone point me towards something I can read about setting it up on a Slackware 11 computer and allowing ipv6 addresses for the other computers in the house? -- Alan ( If replying by mail, please note that all "sardines" are canned. There is also a password autoresponder but, unless this a very old message, a "tuna" will swim right through. ) |

Then, assuming you've got a working IPv6 connection, fire up your favourite browser with IPv6 support (ie. Mozilla Firefox), and browse IPv6 web: http://www.kame.net/ is a good start (you should get a dancing kame image). My Slackware mirror is also accessible via IPv6 (both http and ftp): ftp://ftp6.slackware.pl/pub/slackware/ > Can anyone point me towards something I can read about setting it up on a > Slackware 11 computer Instructions for setting up IPv6 tunnel depend on your ISP/tunnel broker, so I won't give you any particular hint. > and allowing ipv6 addresses for the other computers > in the house? Google for radvd. HTH -- I do not approve anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. |
