Anybody been able to compile avifile 0.7.43 under Slackware 11.0? If so,
could you please share your experience?

I have also failed compiling avifile 0.7.43 because of the _mmx_one bug.
My guess is that this is because of some new feature in gcc. In my
attempts to compile a full featured transcode for Slackware 11 I had to
leave out avifile as well as libmpeg3 and libfame which also suffered
from the same thing.
