| Yes I have a copy of Slack 11 & yes I bought it from slackware.com & yes I'll install it when I get around to it. My box is running Slack 9.1 "good enough" with 2.6.17.1 kernel. I have a new Vista laptop I've been working with & had to update Samba 2.2.8a to 3.0.24 before Vista could mount my Linux shares. Another issue I'm fighting is that named 9.2.5 successfully adds my wife's WinXP hostname to named.hosts [dynamically], but it refuses to put the Vista hostname into it. Error in syslog is "update 'geertomky.com/IN' denied", where geertomky.com is my intranet's phony domain name [it's well hidden behind my firewall]. What's wierd is that both the XP & Vista hostnames get added to named.rev. I don't s'pose it's a Vista vs. XP thing, but I'm not ruling anything out when it comes to Windows!!! -- <> Robert Geer & Donna Tomky | |||| We sure |||| <> <> bgeer@xmission.com | == == find it == == <> <> dtomky@xmission.com | == == enchanting == == <> <> Albuquerque, NM USA | |||| here! |||| <> |
