What is the make/model of your DVDrom? Do you have an old cd burner
kicking around you can use to install from CD? Is the DVD/CD player a
Lightscribe drive?

Details please.

CD or DVD?
On the CD version, the sources are on disks 4, 5 and 6, so to select
source you need to have burned ALL 6 of them.
If you used the DVD image, the sources are in the same kind of tree
as the packages, but starting with source/ :
$ ls -l source
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 185652 Oct 2 06:59 CHECKSUMS.md5
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 189 Oct 2 06:59 CHECKSUMS.md5.asc

PS: only for 11.0 a DVD image was created by Pat, the older versions
always came on "more then 1" (normally 4) CD's.
As version 11.0 became SO large that 6 CD's would be needed, he now
also made the DVD image, see slackware mirrors (it is NOT on
slackware.com, ONLY on mirror sites!).

I don't think Janusz is trying to access the sources on the disks you
mention. He wants to install Slackware and is asked during installation
to select the "Installation Source" i.e. the disk to install from.

Regards,

Kees.
