| I am using a 2.6.19.1 kernel on my Slackware 11.0 box, but the system include files that I have still are those put in place at installation time - files for a 2.4.* kernel. I have not removed those and installed the 2.6.* include files instead because of a warning concerning the possibility of breaking something when installing such files - something to do with the fact that glibc has been compiled against 2.4.* include files. Is it actually a dangerous thing to do to install the 2.6.* include files? What are people's experiences in this respect? |
