That bug is not directly related to your problem as I understand it, I
suggest you log a new bug detailing the fax part not working. being rather
detailed so the bug doesnt get closed

I've found that just using the fax utility in KDE doesn't work. There is
supposed to be a file in /etc that will change the text into pdf and then
call the fax number etc. That file is missing in /etc. I'm using 10.2.
