It might just be some silly web design. Like allow Netscape version
very old, disallow anything else (except IE of course).

If it has nothing to do with somting Firefox doesn't have, but
Netscape does, but has only to do with allow/disallow, pretending to
be that old version of Netscape should work with no problem.

Gee, and they're really, really, worried about being plonked by you.

Hi Ken

Just a guess... a few months ago I upgraded firefox, from 1.5 to 2.0,
and some secure sites I used simply become unavailable. At first I
thought
that this was another firefox issue, but opera also refused to work!
Then, some google search allowed me to spot the problem:

Firefox and opera disabled the RSA_RC4_40_MD5 encryption algorithm
because,
apparently, it's insecure. Turning *security.ssl3.rsa_rc4_40_md5* to
true in firefox's about:config solved the problem (and also in opera)!
There are many more encryption algorithms so you may have to try to
enable (and then disable, if no success) some of them until you get
something useful. This simply means that the sysadmins of these sites
are not doing their work properly...

Hope it helps

Regards

António

Where do you get the static binary for Slackware? On opera.com if I
select "slackware" it only offers the shared version for download.

Baited, cast, caught, hooked, and reeled in. Perfect example of
a caught troll. In this case, it needs to be thrown in a dumpster like
a newborn baby at a teen prom.

There should be a check box for a static RPM/tar.gz format
there. Check that, and it should show up.
