| I've had similar troubles with my Ultra 2. Disks that worked once didn't work twice and I had to burn a new image to a fresh disk to make it work. The problem went away when I took the CD drive out and very carefully disassembled it and thoroughly cleaned the lens on the optics system. Give it a shot. It's not like CD rom drives are so expensive that you can't get another one if you damage it. CJ Alfred Zentek wrote: > Hi all, > > I'm trying to install Solaris 8 on an Ultra 5 system. By chance I've found another solution: http://slacksite.com/technotes/devalias.html But in principle you're right! Most of the time it's cheaper to buy sth. new, instead of wastin T&M to get sth. working. Cheers - Alfred -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |
