Default Is Sun Management Center Worth the Cost????

I currently use a highly modified version of opennms (www.opennms.org)
and 10 years worth of scripts and custom code to manage and monitor my
enterprise which consists of Sun, SGI, Linux, W2K, Tru64, Alpha,
Extreme, Cisco, IBM SAN and a few other odds and ends.

My current system is lacking a heavy duty change management and
performance reporting feature as well as the fact that opennms is not
architected very well. (imho, java is not the right platform for a
systems management tool)

My main concern is monitoring the windows and Sun systems, but after
looking at the cost of SMC, I was like ouch!

If it really is worth it please let me know. I am also looking at
Openview and another tool called Prognosis. Any feedback on any of these
would be great. (have used openview before but 4 years ago)

Thanks,
CC
