You said you tried it also on an Ultra 2. That system is an Sbus
system, so you will positively not have run with the PCI card in the
U10.

What HBA did you use in the U2?

The onboard U2 SCSI, which incidently uses the same type of connector,
is a single ended adapter and will not work with the high voltage
differential D1000. It will even potentially break something if
tried.

To be able to run 'probe-scsi-all' you should really set the OBP
variable 'auto-boot?' to false and do a 'reset' before attempting the
'probe-scsi-all'.

What did you use the D1000 with before?

Lots of really enterprise gear was HDV as well on a variety of things.
But yes, it would have been smarter to have a seperate connector type
defined for HDV devices vs. SE.

SE and LVD are bus compatible. Most LVD gear will step down to SE if
thats what is in use on the bus. Some are jumpered, but most were
auto-sensing.

There's a chance that mixing HDV and SE wouldn't blow something, but
there's equal chance that it did.

At the ok prompt type probe-scsi-all

Something this old? (I cannot find any reference to this card at LSI
Logic)
Anyway first OBP has to see it.

You mean SCSI? If it aint dead you are killing it looks like

I have setup Veritas Cluster Server 4.1 on Ultra 10's with the same
cards last year for my friends. Now I want to help an Oracle
consultant who wants a VCS setup on D1000 to implement Oracle 10g RAC.
I think I am not being able to give this D1000 enough time because of
my job. I will try to to spend couple of hours on this and will get
back with the results... Thanks folks for opening up my eyes!

Cheers
