| I've just picked up a "Sun Ray 1" at a hamfest last Sunday. From looking on the Sun web site, I seem to need licensed server software to run it. (Unless they have made it freely downloadable like Solaris 10.) It is a neat little package, and I would like to set it up to run in my bedroom for connections when I am sick in bed, or when I want to check on something in the middle of the night. Its advantage is that it has no fan, unlike the other machines in the house. So -- has *anyone* come up with freely-distributable software to make something useful out of it -- even just to turn it into an xterm? I don't need a lot of the other features claimed for the server software. See <http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/index.jsp> and hit the "Get It" tab. Sun Ray Server Software been freely downloadable for a long time but you were supposed to buy a license for each Sun Ray appliance. Now you only need to buy those licenses if you want support.
