If that's the goal, I'd recommend using Solaris and OpenOffice or StarOffice. Technically a better solution, and a cheaper one too. -- Rich Teer, SCNA, SCSA, OpenSolaris CAB member President, Rite Online Inc. Voice: +1 (250) 979-1638 URL: http://www.rite-group.com/rich |

AFAIK WIndows 2003 32bit does not support dualcore at all. WIndows 2003 64-bit does. also win2003 64-bit will be able to adress much more ram and CItrix has whitepaper describing the benefit of 64 bits. http://www.citrix.com/site/resources...pabilities.pdf Apart from that I agree with Rich, use Staroffice. //Lars |

Of course even the 32 bit edition of Windows Server 2003 supports Dual Core. Why shouldn't it? Even Windows XP does support Dual Core and Hyper Threading. > also win2003 64-bit will be able to adress much more ram > and CItrix has whitepaper describing the benefit of 64 bits. You don't need the 64bit version of Windows 2003 to address more than 4GB RAM. Also the Enterprise Edition of W2K3 32 bit is able to access up to 64 GB RAM. -- Daniel |

The Pro Windows magazine, "Windows IT Pro", recently published a very positive review of using X4100,/X4200 as Windows servers at: http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/...350/50350.html The only drawback they noted was that Windows was not pre-installed. (Although I wonder who would even think about throwing out Solaris 10 for a Windows substitute) /Karl |
